Jo earned her BS degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Dentistry in 1981 and has practiced with Dr. Calkins since 1998. She and her husband Steve love to spend time with their three adult children and their four beautiful granddaughters. Jo is active in her church and teaches first grade CCD. When Jo isn’t caring for her patients, she enjoys “hanging out” at the family farm near the David City/Brainard area where she grew up. Jo is interested in family history, focusing especially on the Great Depression and WWII years. She also loves to read and enjoys cheering on the Huskers… Go Big Red!
Jennifer was born in Germany while her father served in the United States Army. She grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Southeast Community College Dental Assisting Program. She maintains continuing education credits to be a certified Dental Assistant and is active in the Lincoln Dental Assistant’s Association. She has practiced for 27 years; all have been while working for Dr. Calkins. Her personal interests include reading, scrapbooking, exercising and doing pet therapy at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital with her dog Nora. She also loves to spend time with her niece. Jennifer has volunteered in several of the NMOM (Nebraska Mission of Mercy) events assisting Dr. Tim as together they provide treatment to those who otherwise have limited or no access to dental care. Jennifer spends most of her autumn afternoons cheering for and helping “armchair coach” Cornhusker football.
Angie earned her BS degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Dentistry in 1989. She has been practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist the past 30 years here in Lincoln, NE. She enjoys helping her patients and their oral health, as well as getting to know them. Angie grew up in Beatrice, NE and graduated from high school there in 1985. She married her high school sweetheart, Tim, in 1994. They have two children, Ansley and Trevin, and a Shih-a-poo named Maci. Family and friends mean the world to Angie, so anything she gets to do in her spare time often revolves around them. Family vacations are a big highlight of every year, as well as attending Husker sporting events. She loves watching and supporting her kids in all of the school activities they participate in, and volunteers at school and at church as much as possible. Angie is very happy to be a part of Dr. Calkins dental team. She feels blessed and thankful to have found her ‘home away from home.’
Wendy has been in the dental field for 26 years, and has worked with Dr. Calkins since 2014. Wendy is married and has six children; three biological and three adoptive. Her two oldest children are married and 2015 brought her first grandchild, a grandson named Graham Oliver! Wendy’s best “friend” is a silky terrier named Pete. Wendy and her daughter Heather own and run a dance studio in Milford where they live. Wendy is always on the go with school activities, dance and sporting events. When she and her family can find the time they enjoy trips to the lake where they love to camp, fish, boat, jet ski but most of all love to spend time together just having fun. Wendy really enjoys working here at Dr. Calkins’ practice and especially likes greeting our patients each day.
Paula earned her BS degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Dentistry in 1999 and has spent the last 20 years practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Lincoln. Paula is married to Jeff and they have one daughter, Macey. She spends most of her time attending and watching Macey’s activities and events. Paula also enjoys spending time during summer with family and friends at Johnson Lake and on fall days watching and going to Husker sporting events. Paula is the newest member of Dr. Calkins’ staff and is excited to be a part of his family oriented dental team!
